Good news to the Land Rover Defender customers... You can now seek a higher level of specifications with an improved in-car entertainment, premium interiors and four new color options for the roof.
DESIGN / Interior:
The Defender is a pure British four wheel drive Off -road utility vehicle which first hit the roads in 1948. The car keeps the tradition of a perfect British military vehicle even without any major changes in the body panels. But the interior of the new Defender is super packed with more powerful AC, CD changer, tall leather seats, which give good support in Off-roading and a redesigned dash board. The big instrument cluster provides clear and precise information to the driver. The vehicle is available in both two row and three row seating options.
Exterior:
As mentioned earlier, the Defender's unique design remains unchanged. The car is available in three different wheel base options with both hard and soft roof. The big radiator grille, round head lamps, separated circular indicators, single piece bumper, rectangular wheel arches, extremely classic thick shoulder line, sliding glass for the rear side body and a quarter glass on the roof, near the C pillar adds to the classic majestic beauty. The big glass area offers better visibility especially while Off-roading. The hard top model is available with an optional sun roof also.
Driving:
The hard core SUV is not for babes and chicks.. Being born as an SUV, the 4X4 stuff is capable of climbing any where, under any conditions. It can cruise at 40 Kmph through 60 cm deep water and can even balance itself on 2 wheels!! As it is narrower than the modern SUV's the car is more easy to handle.The engine developed by Ford is not above the mark in power and torque, but still feels very responsive.Thanks to the 6 speed gear box.Though the car is a king on Off-road, but on the road, there is body roll while taking turnings and the steering is not so responsive. The noisy engine and huge turning radius remains unchanged.
