BMW's first premium compact tourer, the Active Tourer concept is presented in the 2012 Paris Motor Show.The electric plug - in concept also has the BMW e-drive concept.The vehicle is powered by a lithium ion battery and an intelligent engine control unit.
DESIGN:
The body design is simply elegant at every angle. The premium quality painting is worth mentioning. Front position is uniquely BMW with slightly angled kidneys. Twin head lamps with LED lining and two big air intakes in the front bumper catches the attention. The brushed aluminium over hangs adds to its beauty. rear view mirrors are radically sporty with a chrome lining. The side profile is so sporty that it gives a dynamic feel to the car. Door openers are an integrated part of the body with very thick shoulder line.There is a small air-intake like over hang at the front door. The quarter glass at the front gives the driver good visibility.Vehicle fitted with 20 inch alloys. Rear is elegant with the typical L shaped Beamer tail lamps. Two brushed aluminium addings are also there at the bumper.
The vehicle is 4350 mm long with a width of 1834 mm and height 1560 mm. It provides a fair amount of space and high level of comfort with a fairly raised seating position. The wheel base is 2670 mm. the engine space is so compact and the batteries are placed under the load floor. The advantage is an increased interior space with enough space for the tourer storage.
The interior is refreshingly new and bright. The door trim and seats have a light shade with an orange LED lining, which seems to be contrasting and sporty for the interior. The center console seems to be an extension from the dash board, which saves a lot of space and is highly user friendly. Dials are black. vehicle has a panoramic sun roof. Seats are supportive with integrated head rests and ample leg room. Totally decent and fair!!
Another high light is the new Multi-functional instrument display - which is a 10 inch LED screen which makes display an experience, rather than the conventional analog dials.
